Live a little
Treat yourself, it's worth it
After what felt like 10 years of treacherous winter, spring is finally here. A reminder that “tough times don’t last, only tough people do” or however it’s said. Personally, I think that’s just cope, considering that this winter, I slipped on ice, sprained my wrist, and nearly three months later, it still hurts like hell. So clearly, the tough times are lasting.
I love using winter as my favourite example of tough times because it’s a temporary phase of struggle, but you need continuous self-assurance that the light at the end of the tunnel is actually an escape and not a cement truck. Exciting possibilities, no?
Regardless, I'm taking a page from the Parks and Recreation playbook and treating myself, because enjoyment is essential. Whether it's buying a new pair of shoes, getting a massage, fine leather goods, or just eating that extra slice of cake. Treating yourself is my favourite form of self-care. YOLO and other fun ideologies.
In the spirit of treating myself, I’m choosing to live it up and treat myself with
something that’s spicy, indulgent, and tastes like a good time. Which is exactly what this seafood pasta recipe is.
